They’re super chill and laidback and got a dry sense of humor and ……… full of so much hubris it’s actually concerning. bestie is practical to a fault and thinks they’re sooooo smart for . for …… well if you live in a world where mushroom zombies making life difficult and uncontaminated food scarce why WOULDNT you just start giving em a little trim and cooking that 🙄sustainable and tasty everybody else is just pussies. <- by some miracle this has been working out pretty well and theyre totally vibing. even made a bestie from the whole thing (poppy !!!!) where they got a cool little symbiosis situation going on with <3
(poppy gives them a ride and lets them trim their mushrooms, which allows poppy to pass as uninfected easier and lets patience always have something to cook <3 and lets both of them have some company that would be harder to find otherwise :,3)
They’re very fun and they need to get bonked on the head for hubris

(Their nickname is petty because one of their favorite crew members to impersonate was a petty officer, and lacking any other name, they got nicknamed <3)
They are THE MOST FUN EVER TO ME. The most squeaky toy energy of any character Ive ever made. They’re like comedically malicious while simultaneously wanting to be Your Bestie. Evil-friendly. Genuinely loves to live and learn and eat– and staying silly like it’s their goddamn purpose on this earth !!!
They’re a collection of half-remembered memories of dead sailors who’s never really known the world outside of a naval ship trapped in the arctic. They’re made of wood and shadow and meat and ice. They’re parasocial about their ghost ship (they think it created them and talk to it <3). They’re a total freak in all senses. They’re living a horror romcom while everybody else is having the worst time of their lives. They’re even gay.
If I was to say all my thoughts about them it could fill up a million pages… I literally have a notion page where I’ve collected all the giant paragraphs I’ve dropped about them and it’s like SO much. Will talk about them non stop any time at the slightest opportunity <3
